The spend visibility initiative is underway. All the spend data has been gathered and is being shared with various departments as the analysis phase of the project is underway. How do various people react to seeing this spend information compiled for the first time?
Buying Assistant - Our company has all this money to spend and all I get is my meager salary!?!?
Buyer - I had no idea there was so much spent on my commodity. Who is authorizing all this maverick spend?
VP of Procurement - Nice, now senior management will have to recognize what an impact we have/should have on the company.
Accounts Payable - No wonder we spend a fortune on check stock.
Operations - What are these people doing with all this stuff?
Finance - How can we be spending this much? What is going on in Procurement? Why aren't they getting better prices? (See Buyer reaction above.)
Sales - What? We bring in a lot of money so we should be able to spend some money on nice stuff.
