
Buyers hear the term "Return on Investment" quite often, especially when evaluating new software or products. The concept is also important when disusing whether a company should switch vendors. It has to be determined if the money saved will outweigh the time and resources involved in switching.
Managers and executives will invariably ask, "What's the ROI?" Does anyone else notice the acronym happens to spell the word "roi" which means "king" in French? Do you sometimes feel that there is too much emphasis on ROI, that is has become the king of all concerns and overshadows less tangible, less measurable, but just as important aspects of the decisions?
