
Everywhere I look these days in the Procurement field, there is information about Sourcing in China. I almost wonder why it took us so long to get to this point of Buyers looking overseas directly. Clearly, our local US suppliers have been getting items from there for years.
Is it some cultural bias we have? Do we harbor the impression that goods made overseas are somehow inferior to products made in North America? Did we feel that as long as we bought from Western Hemisphere companies, we were not contributing to a trade deficit regardless of the actual origin of the items?
