Has your company started using (or perhaps stopped using) Supplier Report Cards?
Don't the title and topic of this post just bring up all kinds of feelings that you might rather forget? I remember the day "they" (who will remain nameless in order to protect the guilty and the innocent alike) told us about this great new topic called "Supplier Report Cards."
Imagine how Buyers felt telling our suppliers that we would soon be issuing them report cards. I happen to have a degree in Education, but I doubt that made them feel any better.
The theory was - how do we know how suppliers are doing if we don't measure them? (There's that good old metrics debate again.) It is a good theory with valid points, but also with a very poor name.
Perhaps Supplier Performance Reports or Supplier Performance Metrics would have made the whole concept sound more palatable at least.
What does your company call your vendor performance tracking information?
