Buyers can always benefit from increased communication with suppliers. Creating a newsletter will be helping them help you.
Thanks to companies like Constant Contact and their competitors, which combine e-mail lists and newsletter templates, it is easier than ever to create newsletters to stay in touch with members of a group. If your local book club does it and so does your teenager's alternative music club, why not create a newsletter for your business purposes?
You may be thinking, who is going to pay for this? It need not cost you anything but time. As of this writing, Constant Contact will allow you to have a list with up to 50 e-mail addresses at no charge. Costs are incremental but still reasonable with more than 50 names. You can also simply use templates that are built into Word and then save the file as an attachment and e-mail it yourself. Another option is to create your newsletter and then post the file online and send the link to your suppliers to alert or remind them of each new issue.
See Part 2 for ideas of the types of content you might want to include.
