I love to hear (and share) success stories. The article describes how a new Director of Procurement implemented some much needed changes and also highlights the results of those changes in several areas.
It is really thrilling to work on a Sourcing effort that brings about dramatic and positive long-lasting change for the organization. I have been part of those huge undertakings too so I can readily imagine how Anders Lillevik (the subject of the article) must feel. He should be very proud and I'm happy to help spread the word of his and his team's accomplishments.
I had worked for a large public company that went through a serious Sourcing effort too and we implemented many positive changes.
As one of the largest employers in the state, the company would frequently be mentioned in the financial report on the radio. One day as I was driving home from work, they mentioned the Sourcing projects and millions in savings that we had been working on for months. To know I had contributed to that was very fulfilling.
