
With NCAA March Madness fresh in everyone's minds, this is a great time to mention Spalding's NEVERFLAT ball (check their website to see the TV commercial and interactive features of the design) and the role the Spalding Purchasing Department had in bringing it to market.

It is a good example of the impact Purchasing can have when it is actively involved with a new product as part of the team as opposed to getting into the game (puns definitely intended) after the fact solely as processors of orders.
