Why 7? It's 30% more efficient than reading a "Top 10" list.
1) We never have back-orders. (Sounds good, but all Purchasing professionals know this is a lie!)
2) What do you mean you didn't get it? We sent it overnight three weeks ago.
3) I know I promised it to you last week, but that item is on back order.
4) There's been a little problem at our manufacturing plant...
5) I know I told you we'd deliver 500 and your catalog just came out yesterday, but that item is on back order - until next season.
6) Even though we're only four months into it, we need to re-negotiate the contract because we now realize we made a huge pricing error in your favor during the bidding process and we can't continue to supply these items to you at this negative profit margin.
7) That's too bad you advertised the item free with any purchase and 275 of your customers are already waiting for it because it's on back-order - permanently. We've discontinued that item - with no replacement.
