
Why 7? You’re busy and “Top 10” lists are usually padded anyway.
1) E-mail is returned by her system with the message “The mailbox you're trying to reach is full.”
2) The vendor’s voice mail won’t let you leave a message, but directs you to Sally Sue at extension 123. Sally Sue has never heard of your vendor rep or your account.
3) When you try to fax a PO, the fax number has been disconnected.
4) The vendor arrives an hour and half late for your first meeting and then says that he is sorry he is late, but he got lost and since he was so late anyway, he stopped at a fast food place for lunch.
5) Despite your refusal to agree, the vendor insists that “as a favor” she will write a quote lower than allowed and as long as she hurries and puts it in the computer, her boss won’t be able to change it.
6) You receive three invoices for the same item – but no item.
7) The rep’s manager calls you out of the blue one day and says, “I’m calling all of his accounts to let them know that Billy Ray is no longer with us and I want to apologize for anything he may have said or done that was inappropriate or offensive.”
Yes, these have all happened to me…and many other Buyers!
